The impetus to develop and modernise has been particularly strong in post Colonial and more recently post Communist states. The entrepreneur is increasingly seen as playing an important role in the process of economic development and social change. The entrepreneurial role has been linked to employment and wealth creation poverty alleviation and raising living standards.
