Whereas most research into marriages have concentrated on why couples split, this research concentrates on why they stick together. Using families where one of the adults is away from home for much of the year and a new way of looking at human behaviour, valuable conclusions have been arrived at. Many occupations and a wide geographical scatter of the sample add to the interest.
