This book examines in detail the negotiations that led to Greece?s accession to the European Community. While the existing literature tends to confine itself to an analysis of either a member state?s pre-accession relations with the Community or post-accession trends and prospects or both, the present book provides an analytical and conceptual framework for the study of membership negotiations. Thus the book contributes not only to an understanding of Greece?s relations with the European Community, but also to the identification of general negotiating mechanisms underlying the process of Community enlargement.
